Yekaterinburg hockey players from Children and Youth Sports School Yunost became champions of the Vaughan Kings Classic international tournament, which took place in the homeland of the hockey club of the same name in Canada.

In the semifinals, eleven-year-old Urals defeated a team of players from the best American teams. And in the final, they were able to defeat the champions of last year – the Vaughan Kings – 2008.
– This is an annual tournament, it is held for many ages. The teams from the USA and Canada, the strongest teams from their “elite” divisions participated in our age category, they are called “AAA” here. In one Canadian Ontario district, 250 teams of 2008 were registered, and the AAA group included only 12 of them. We played with several regions, plus in the group, we played with a team from the USA, and in the playoffs, in the semifinals, we knocked out a national team from several top AAA clubs, also from the USA, – said guys coach Alexander Antropov.
Young champions will come back home on December 13th.
