According to 4,000 lenders who submit information to the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBCH), in August 2020, the number of cars purchased on credit, both new and used, amounted to 86.5 thousand units. Compared to the same period last year, the number of car loans issued did not change.
However, compared to the previous month, July 2020, in August 2020, the issuance of car loans decreased significantly (by 14.2 per cent, while in July 2020 the figure was 100.8 thousand units). It is worth noting that the average personal credit rating (PCR) of a borrower for car loans in August 2020 was 679 points (the minimum value is 300 points, the maximum is 850 points).
It is specified that in August 2020, the largest number of issued car loans in the regions of Russia was noted in Moscow (6.4 thousand units), the Moscow region (4.9 thousand units), St. Petersburg (4.8 thousand units), as well as the republics of Tatarstan (4.4 thousand units) and Bashkortostan (3.7 thousand units).
At the same time, in August 2020, in the country regions, a multidirectional dynamics of the issuance of car loans was noted. Thus, the largest increase in issuance compared to the same period in 2019 was recorded in Nizhny Novgorod (+24.7 per cent), Sverdlovsk (+20.7 per cent), and Tyumen (+16, 8 per cent).
