Kazan was included in the list of the pilot cities where a new federal programme for the renewal of public transport will be tested. The implementation of the programme is planned to be fulfilled until 2030.
According to the Deputy Transport Minister, Aleksei Semenov, taking into account all budgetary constraints, authorities are forced to remain within the envisaged limits for now (4 billion rubles of federal budget funds per year until 2024 with the attraction of leasing funds of 6.5 billion rubles). Then, they plan to increase this volume from 2025 to 2030 to 26.4 billion rubles a year.
