Kazan Residents Created Giant Tricolour on Flag Day [Video]

In the centre of Kazan, over a thousand people took part in the creation of a huge tricolour from handprints on the National Flag Day which was celebrated yesterday, on August 22. The volunteers spread a banner canvas 100 metres long. Everyone could use paints to create an image of palms in the colours of the Russian flag. 

The action started at 10 am, and it took the participants 8 hours to completely decorate the canvas. In the middle of the day, the Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, Damir Fattakhov, and the Deputy Prime Minister,  Leyla Fazleeva, joined the event.
