The fight between Russian champion UFC Habib Nurmagomedov and former interim champion of the organization Tony Ferguson is officially announced. Athletes will meet in the spring.
According to the organizers, the fight will take place in Brooklyn on April 19, 2020, at the UFC 249 organization’s number tournament.
Khabib Nurmagomedov won all 28 victories in his career, 12 of which he spent in the UFC. In the last match, the Russian defeated Dustin Poirier with strangulation.
Ferguson has 25 victories and 3 losses. He currently has a series of 12 consecutive wins. Ferguson defeated Donald Cerrone in a final knockout.
For the UFC, this is already the fifth attempt to organize a fight between Nurmagomedov and Ferguson.
