The literacy festival began yesterday, on March 31, in Yakutsk as part of the global educational campaign “Total Dictation”, TASS reports.
According to the director of the Fund for Supporting the Language Culture of Citizens, Total Dictation, the member of the Russian Presidential Council for the Russian language Olga Rebkovets, on March 30, at the Hermitage’s headquarters, the status of the capital of Total Dictation was transferred from the team of St. Petersburg, the capital of Total Dictation 2020 years, to Yakutsk.
She noted that the festival includes a professional development programme for teachers, masterclasses on effective business communication, the opening of a literacy centre at the National Library of Yakutia, as well as a series of events with the author of “Total Dictation” of 2020 Andrey Gelasimov.
It is reported that the festival will last until April 3, 2021. As noted by the first deputy minister of education and science of the republic, Irina Lyubimova, personal protective equipment will be used at face-to-face sites and social distancing will be observed during the festival. It is specified that the main site of the event in Yakutsk on April 10 will be located in the House of Friendship.
