It is planned to launch direct flights from Samara to Paris in 2020. This information is indicated in the draft resolution of the regional Ministry of Transport.
The idea belongs to the governor Dmitry Azarov. The Samara authorities decided to subsidize flights for the development of tourism and cooperation in the industry.
They plan to launch flights twice a week. The Samara authorities chose Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports for arrivals. They were chosen due to the location at an affordable distance from the headquarters of the Renault Group and the tourist centre of France.
13 airlines that have a suitable fleet will be able to fly. The length of the route is 3316 km. For a flight in one direction, the carrier will receive a subsidy in the amount of 750 thousand rubles. In general, the Ministry of Transport plans to spend on this no more than 50 million rubles.
