Marathon ‘Healthy Children – Healthy Russia’ Held in Moscow

On June 20, the results of the first All-Russian competitive marathon “Healthy Children – Healthy Russia” were summed up in Moscow. The event, held by Irina Viner International Sports Academy with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Sports of Russia, gathered hundreds of athletes, RIA Novosti reports.   

More than 640 teams from 57 constituent entities of the Russian Federation took part in the first in the history of the Russian marathon in the gymnastrada format. The award ceremony took place on Sunday at the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace.

The Irina Viner Academy team became the winner in the General Gymnastics nomination. Pupils of the children’s and youth sports school from Udmurtia and the regional public federation of rhythmic gymnastics from the Orenburg region took prizes.

In the nomination “Gymnastic sports” won the team of the National State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Health named after Lesgaft from St. Petersburg. Pupils of the Voronezh Regional Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics and the Sports School of the Olympic Reserve “Academy of Martial Arts” from the Ryazan Region also became prize-winners.

The “Dance Marathon” competition won the pop ballet “Eksiton” from the Ulyanovsk region, the winners in this nomination were the team of the Samara region and the sports club “Alina” from the Tula region.

Special prizes were received by the pupils of the Federation of Aesthetic Gymnastics of the Republic of Crimea and Sports School No. 43 in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The team of the federation of aesthetic gymnastics from the Ivanovo region was awarded for the “youth of the soul”.
