The purchase was done as part of the national project “Healthcare” on behalf of the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov.
In particular, in the cystic fibrosis department of the Children’s Clinical Multidisciplinary Centre of the Moscow Region, a modern body plethysmograph was installed, designed to study the function of external respiration.
“The device allows to determine clinically significant indicators that cannot be investigated with conventional spirometry – functional residual lung capacity, residual lung volume, total lung capacity and bronchial resistance,” said Niso Odinaeva, head doctor of the centre.
It is noted that the new equipment will allow doctors to conduct a more in-depth study of the external respiration of children. With its help, it will be possible to quickly establish a diagnosis and monitor the condition of the child, reports the 360 TV-channel.
