In the Q1 of 2021, Moscow residents bought 63.4 thousand used cars, which is 1.5 per cent more than the result obtained a year ago, according to the experts of the AUTOSTAT analytical agency. It is noted that the Moscow ratings differ from the all-Russian ones. In general, in Russia, LADA, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, and KIA considered the top 5 most bought cars in the above mentioned period.
The analysis of the Moscow secondary market showed that premium Mercedes-Benz became the leader of the brand rating: in January-March, 4.8 thousand cars were purchased. The second most popular became BMW cars (4.5 thousand). This is followed by KIA (4.4 thousand). The top five leaders of the secondary market also included LADA and Toyota (4,200 and 4,000 cars, respectively).
In addition, experts have compiled a model rating of the secondary car market in Moscow. According to the research results, from January to March, Muscovites most often bought used Hyundai Solaris (1,657 cars). The second place is taken by Skoda Octavia (1,644 cars), and the third, by KIA Rio (1,480 cars). The top five also includes the Ford Focus (1,416 cars) which is the bestseller in the country’s secondary market and the Volkswagen Polo (1,125 cars).
