The packaging of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus, Sputnik V, will begin in Mexico in the second half of November this year, according to a statement released by the Birmex Mexican state pharmaceutical company.

The Sputnik V vaccine developed by the National Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Gamaleya, will start to be packaged in Mexico starting from November 2021, which was officially announced on the Twitter account of the Russian Foreign Ministry, after an agreement signed by the Russian Fund for Direct Investment and the Biological and Reagent Laboratories of Mexico (Birmex).

In Birmex, it is assumed that after obtaining the necessary permits in the country, it will be possible to package from 4 million to 4.5 million doses of the vaccine per month, which will first be used in Mexico and after they can be sold in Central America and the Caribbean.

As specified, by October 18, the country had received almost 12 million doses of the Russian vaccine.
