A monument dedicated to those who died during the Civil War of 1917-1922 was unveiled in Sevastopol, RIA News reports. It is located on the coast of Karantinnaya Bay, from where you can see the Tauric Chersonesos and St. Vladimir’s Cathedral.
A monument in Sevastopol is dedicated to the end of the Civil War of 1917-1922. The project was implemented by the Russian Military Historical Society on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The author of the monument is a sculptor, chairman of the Union of Artists Andrey Kovalchuk.
It is specified that the female figure on a high pedestal symbolizes Mother Russia, calling for the reconciliation of her sons who were separated by the Civil War. This is why at the stele, near the Mother Russia figure, a Red Army soldier stays by a White Guard.
