Over 2 thousand people took part in the Victory Parade which took place near the walls of the Kazan Kremlin. In the solemn passage of the troops of the Kazan garrison, 25 ceremonial crews and 24 units of equipment took part, TASS reports.
Troops of the Kazan garrison, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, cadets of military educational institutions, representatives of public associations of the republic, war veterans, as well as students and schoolchildren under the leadership of the commander of the Kazan Military Command Academy, Major General Kirill Kulakov, took part in the solemn passage.
As part of military equipment, modern armoured personnel carriers under the flags of the types and branches of the Russian Armed Forces, special and evacuation equipment passed through the area. Military equipment of the times of the Great Patriotic War was represented by the T-34-85, IS-3 tanks, the SU-100 self-propelled artillery unit, and the “Katyusha” multiple rocket launcher.
The passage of the troops ended with the performance of songs of the war years by the combined military band of the Kazan garrison and the best creative teams of Tatarstan, accompanied by the auto club. Russian actor, Pavel Priluchny, who played the main role in the film “Devyatayev”, sang the song of the Lyube music group “Favorite City”. The concert programme ended with a collective performance of the “Victory Day” song.
