In the specially protected natural areas of Moscow, 861 chicks were born to waterfowl this year, according to the employees of Mospriroda (“Moscow Nature”). It turned out that most of the offspring were brought by individuals of the mallard (732 ducklings), the official website of the Moscow Mayor reports.

Waterfowl, which are listed in the Red Book of Moscow, also have replenishment. For example, the grebe individuals gave birth to 26 chicks. It is noted that this year the birds returned to nest in the parks Kosinsky and Izmailovo. The crested duck brought 24 chicks. They can be seen in the parks Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo, Kosinsky, and Serebryany Bor; 15 chicks of coots have also appeared in the Dolgie Prudy reserve.
