More Than Half Russians Would Like to Have Own Business

Specialists of the job search service conducted a study and found out whether the residents of Russia would like to open their own businesses. 

It turned out that more than half (62 per cent) of the surveyed were considering the possibility of opening their own business. Of those who would like to open their own business, 26 per cent are ready to start their business within a year, 39 per cent in the next 2-3 years, and 35 per cent in 4-5 years.

The most popular areas for starting own business appeared to be design and creativity (12 per cent), manufacturing and industry (8 per cent), as well as restaurants and cafes (7 per cent). In addition, 6 per cent of respondents would like to open a business in IT field, 5 per cent in transport and logistics, 4 per cent in construction, and 3 per cent in marketing, advertising and PR. Among other areas were security, medicine, education, law, and finance.

In addition, more than half of the respondents (54 per cent) noted that they are still at the stage of making up their ideas and concepts for future business, 33 per cent are already analyzing the market, and 25 per cent are making money savings. In turn, 19 per cent of the survey participants are already developing a strategy for their own business, 13 per cent are looking for partners, and 11 per cent for investors. Also, 7 per cent of respondents are currently selecting a team for business development or looking for a suitable place to work, and 1 per cent are even at the stage of registering a new company.
