Tourism analysts (TurStat) ranked the best museums and centres of contemporary art in Russia, the top place among which is occupied by the Garage Museum, which in 2019 was visited by over 930 thousand people.
The Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Erarta Museum of Modern Art in St. Petersburg are also in top three. In 2018, they were visited by 540 and 413 thousand visitors respectively. In the list of the best ones were also included the “New Jerusalem” complex in Istra, Moscow Region, the Yeltsin Centre in Yekaterinburg, the Nizhny Novgorod Centre for Contemporary Art “Arsenal”, the “House of Muses” in Yaroslavl, and others.
