The team of the children’s industrial park Mosgormash took first place at the All-Russian Robotics Championship, reports Moscow Mayor official website with reference to the press service of the Moscow department of entrepreneurship and innovative development. It is expected that from 5 to 7 million rubles can be spent on their project.
Young engineers presented the project “Autonomous Robotic Garbage Collector”. The participants are students of 8-10 grades. They are extremely concerned about the environmental problem in Russia, so they decided to propose a working solution.
“Such championships are not just a step towards choosing a profession, but also a serious test of skills. The result, which was achieved by the guys from Moscow, shows that within the walls of Mosgormash one can get really high-level knowledge,” said the head of the department, Aleksei Fursin.
The students wrote a program for two robots. One robot sorts the garbage, and another one moves the tanks. A special sensor detects the type of garbage and sends it to the necessary container.
