Earlier in Moscow, measures were taken to counteract the special closure of certain enterprises that are closed without any objective conditions. In particular, it is going about allocating 500 million rubles for preferential targeted lending to create an additional fast food chain.

It is specified that applications for the grant will be accepted from March 28 to June 30, 2022. The new support measure will allow Russian networks to replace the closing power points of foreign companies as soon as possible.

On March 10, Sobyanin stressed that Russian catering chains could replace the closing McDonald’s restaurants, of which there are 250 in the capital, within a year. He promised that the city authorities will ask the newly opened enterprises to maximize the use of the personnel potential that worked at McDonald’s.

The Vice President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Suren Vardanyan, pointed out that the situation with the withdrawal of global fast food chains from the Russian market, subject to subsidization by the Moscow authorities, could contribute to the creation of a Russian fast food brand. According to him, this has been discussed many times, but due to competition with major international players, the announced projects could not become successful, but now there is no such obstacle.
