The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, opened the Aquatoria sports complex as part of the reorganization of the former industrial zone ZIL, the Moscow city news agency reported. Sobyanin noted that this area is gradually becoming comfortable for living and playing sports.

It is specified that the construction of Aquatoria was completed last autumn. According to the head of the city, the first stage of the water sports palace is the Anastasia Davydova Centre for synchronized swimming, and the second one is two 50-meter pools, gyms, and a number of other sports facilities. It is noted that trampoline and an acrobatic hall for training professional athletes were also built there. The outdoor pool was also equipped with underwater lighting and a heating system so that it can be visited at any time of the year.
