The Moscow Citizen project and the My Moscow mobile applications became the finalists of the international competition of the World Organization for Smart Sustainable Cities (WeGo). The award recognizes the best e-government projects and is held every three years.
The above mentioned Moscow services allow citizens to remotely transmit meter readings, enroll children in a section, or send online applications concerning various issues to state institutions. The “My Moscow” app was launched at the end of 2018 and has been downloaded over 1.7 million times. Over a year and a half, thanks to the application, citizens received more than 3.1 million services. The “Active Citizen” project became a finalist of the competition in the “City Openness and Inclusiveness” category and was evaluated for the possibilities given to crowdsourcing, the participation of residents in city management, as well as their access to modern information technologies. The results of the competition are expected to be announced at the end of September 2020.
