Moscow Scientists Created Targeted Drug for Liver Cancer Treatment

The scientists at the Lomonosov Moscow State University have developed a targeted drug for liver cancer treatment that delivers the drug directly to tumor cells, which allows reducing the dose of toxic drugs prescribed to patients, RIA News reported.

The university reported that targeted drug delivery is a promising method for modifying drug agents, significantly improving the pharmacological profile of drugs. This method allows reducing the general intoxication of a body and increases the effective concentration of drugs. It is also noted that the scheme for the synthesis of drugs for the treatment of liver cancer, developed by the chemists of the university, was previously included in the list of “100 Best Inventions of Russia” for 2019 and the first half of 2020.
