The technopolis “Moscow” entered the top 3 among 26 special economic zones (SEZ) of Russia in terms of the number of new jobs, the Moscow Mayor’s official website reported with reference to the Ministry of Economic Development following the data for 2019.
According to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy, Property, and Land Relations, Vladimir Efimov, last year residents and companies of the technopolis created 814 new jobs. This is 464 more than anticipated by the plan and accounts for 19 per cent of the total number of jobs that were organized by all SEZs in the country.
“As a result, the SEZ Technopolis Moscow took second place among 26 special economic zones in Russia,” Efimov said.
It is specified that since 2006, when the technopolis just opened, almost 6.5 thousand new jobs have been created on its territory. It is also noted that some preferences for attracting qualified personnel are relevant for residents of the Moscow technopolis.
