Moscow took the first place among European cities in the ranking of innovations that help in the formation of resistance to new coronavirus infection. Among the world cities, the Russian capital took the third place, according to the official website of the city mayor.
As reported, Moscow is recognized as the first among European cities in the ranking of innovations that help in the formation of resistance to coronavirus. It was ahead of London and Barcelona. Among the world’s megacities, the Russian capital occupies the third place after San Francisco and New York. Boston and London close the top five.

It is explained that the rating was compiled by the StartupBlink international research agency and is based on the global map of innovative solutions to combat coronavirus. The study that helped to compile the rating evaluated about 100 cities and 40 countries. The rating algorithm takes into account the number and type of innovations that are used in the fight against COVID-19.
All the projects that are accepted for consideration must meet basic criteria, including innovation, relevance and reliability. Also, additional points may be awarded to rating participants for individual outstanding initiatives.
Thus, about 50 advanced solutions that are used to combat the spread of coronavirus have helped Moscow achieve high performance. To combat the new coronavirus infection, the city has increased the number of points for free rapid testing and vaccination against COVID-19 and has also succeeded in the development of telemedicine.
Another innovative solution is a cloud platform that unites patients, doctors, medical organizations, insurance companies, pharmaceutical production and websites, as well as computer vision algorithms based on AI, which has already helped radiologists analyze more than three million studies.
