Most Interesting Music Concerts of the Week

This week, metal band Korpiklaani and Trollfest will demonstrate the diversity of the heavy northern folk in the capital of Russia.  

On December 12, in Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, one of the brightest stars of the current Russian Winter festival is Nikolai Znaider. He will give two concerts in Moscow. In the first one, he will prove himself to be a chamber performer, playing together with the pianist Robert Kulek the full energies of Beethoven’s sonata. The second concert should highlight another facet of Znaider’s talent: a violin concert of Sibelius will sound – “one of the composer’s best symphonies”.

On December 14th, in the Club RED, the headliners of the Finnish folk metal stage, Korpiklaani, will again come to Russia to present their brutal interpretations of folk music. Their last concert in the Russian capital gathered a lot of connoisseurs of heavy folk. This time they will be supported by cheerful colleagues from Norway, Trollfest band, performing their high-spirited hits in the authentic troll language.

On the December 15 in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel became famous for his inimitable performance of the parts of opera villains – for his album with the appropriate repertoire he won praise from critics and incredible success among the audience. The program of the singer’s Moscow concert includes Mephistopheles’s arias, Iago from Othello, Makki-knife from The Threepenny Opera, etc.
