Specialists of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTsIOM) conducted a survey among Russian women and found out how many of them received the presents they were dreaming about on Women’s Day.
On March 8, 2021, most women in Russia received flowers as a gift (66 per cent), which is the most popular and desired gift on this day (by 33 per cent of respondents). In second place were alcohol, sweets, and delicacies (36 per cent of Russian women received them, although only 5 per cent wanted them). Perfumes, cosmetics, and bijouterie took third place at the top of this year. They were received by 23 per cent of respondents, although 13 per cent dreamed of them.
It is also noted that money or a gift certificate was presented to 20 per cent of women, and 26 per cent wanted it. Every tenth woman in Russia received clothes or shoes as a gift (9 per cent), and 6 per cent of respondents wanted such a present. Also, 6 per cent of survey participants received home appliances as a gift (12 per cent wanted them) and souvenirs (only 2 per cent wanted them).
In addition, 24 per cent of Russian women surveyed dreamed of tickets to a concert or a theatre, or even a dinner in a restaurant, and only 3 per cent of them received such a gift. Finally, 31 per cent of respondents dreamed of a tour or a vacation trip, but only 1 per cent got it. Gadgets and mobile phones were received by 4 per cent of respondents, while 13 per cent wanted them, and 10 per cent of Russian women dreamed of a book, but only 2 per cent received it.
