Most Russians Agree to Impose Restrictions on Driving Scooters

According to almost every second Russian (49 per cent), it is necessary to introduce legislative restrictions on driving scooters and electric scooters, which follows from a survey conducted by specialists of the SuperJob job search service.

Experts clarify that judging by the comments of the respondents, most often it is necessary to limit speed (to a maximum of 10-20 km/h), provide a separate category of driver’s license (pass a medical examination and educational exams for the right to drive a vehicle), and prohibit driving scooters on sidewalks and pedestrian areas. In addition, Russians proposed introducing an age regime for scooters and obliging them to wear protective equipment.

It is specified that among men there are more of both those who believe that it is necessary to regulate scooter driving at the legislative level (52 per cent versus 45 per cent among women), and those who are against such restrictions (24 per cent and 21 per cent, respectively). In addition, the older the Russians, the more they support the regulation of driving scooters and electric scooters (39 per cent among Russians under 34 and 58 per cent among those of 45 and older).
