Russian experts note that 43% of the country residents plan to use public transport less often for security reasons and after the withdrawal of the self-isolation regime. This stimulates the demand for individual vehicles, the most affordable of which are motorcycles and scooters, the demand for which in Novosibirsk grew by 64% compared to the same period last year, VN.RU reported.
In general, in Russia, the demand for motor vehicles in the secondary market increased in the second quarter of 2020 by 45% compared to the same period last year. According to the experts of Avito Auto, the highest growth in demand for motor vehicles in the above mentioned period is observed in Barnaul (84%), Irkutsk (64%), Novosibirsk (64%), and Omsk (57%).
The results of the survey also indicate that 43% of Russians plan to use public transport less often for security purposes even after the withdrawal of the self-isolation regime, which stimulates the demand for individual vehicles, and 9% of Russians who did not have a car before decided to buy one. It is specified that in Novosibirsk, the average cost of a used motorcycle in the second quarter of this year was 627,100 rubles, which is 3 times more than last year. The average price of used mopeds and scooters was 53,700 rubles.
