Media office of the All-Russian Population Census 2020 stated that Muscovites became leaders in the number of marriages in 2019, Moscow 24 reported.
According to the given information, Russians concluded about 917 thousand marriages in 2019. This figure is 24 thousand more than in 2018. Besides, the number of divorces decreased by 56 thousand and was recorded at an indicator of 528 thousand.
Last year, Muscovites registered more than 79 thousand marriages. This is 4 thousand more than in 2018. The second-largest marriage was Moscow region with an indicator of 54.4 thousand. Third place was taken by St. Petersburg with 47 thousand marriages.
