Muscovites Supported Library Modernization Programme

Most of the citizens who take part in the ‘Active Citizen‘ project supported the programme of updating the Moscow libraries. Among 203,130 voters, 56.75 per cent supported the idea of the libraries’ development.  

It is stated that the programme is considered useful by 25.68 per cent of those who voted, while 4.09 per cent opposed the idea, and 13.48 per cent found it difficult to evaluate the programme.

Among the books that need to be updated, readers named the works of Russian and foreign classics of literature (22 per cent of votes), bestsellers in Moscow stores (19.92 per cent), and winners of readers’ ratings (15.98 per cent).

Muscovites also sent over 3.3 thousand of their ideas, offering to replenish libraries with publications in foreign languages, popular science literature, and manuals for independent study of economics, marketing, and information technology.
