From September 28, a museum train will start running in the Novosibirsk metro, the exposition of which is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Novosibirsk State Technical University. The passengers will have a chance to see rare photographs from the history of the university and learn about the inventions that were made by its students.

The Studencheskaya (“Student’s”) metro station appeared in Novosibirsk due to the fact that a large university had been already working there. The university was created in the difficult post-war period when industry and the national economy was in ruins and the country needed energy workers, metallurgists, and machine tool builders.
It is known that the first students of the institute studied in residential buildings that the university rented from a turbine generator plant. It is also noted that each of the first students had to take part in the construction of their own university.
