The BMW Group has unveiled the new electric crossover BMW iX built on an innovative component base. The launch of the model on the Russian market is scheduled for 2022, according to the press service of the automaker.

It is noted that the laser-produced BMW radiator grille serves as a smart panel with integrated sensors, cameras and radar for advanced driver assistance systems. The BMW emblem on the bonnet is a functional element that acts as a filler cap for the windscreen and rear window washer fluid. It is mentioned that the optional panoramic roof with electrochromic dimming is the largest glass surface in production vehicles of the BMW Group.
In addition, the BMW iX has a new generation head-up display. The windshield displays vehicle speed, diagnostic messages, warnings from electronic assistants, route instructions, and multimedia content. Moreover, the BMW iX is the first production vehicle in the BMW Group with a hexagonal steering wheel.
The power output of the BMW iX xDrive40 version is over 300 hp. The crossover accelerates to 100 km/h in about 6 seconds. The fifth-generation BMW eDrive component base includes electric motors, transmissions, power electronics, high-speed charging technology and a high-voltage battery. In the BMW iX xDrive40, the battery capacity exceeds 70 kWh and the maximum charging power reaches 150 kW.
