The sales of new electric vehicles in Russia increased by 62 per cent in August 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, according to the analytical agency Autostat.
It is noted that residents of Russia bought 81 new electric vehicles in August, which is 62 per cent more than in August 2019. Thus, the market for new electric cars is growing for the second month in a row (in July, it added 17 per cent).
The growth in sales of electric vehicles is associated with the introduction of the new Audi e-tron model. In August, the car with the price of 5 million 768 thousand rubles was purchased by 29 residents of Russia.
It is also specified that 22 Russians bought Nissan Leaf, 10 people bought Jaguar I-PACE, and Tesla Model 3; Tesla Model X was preferred by five people, and Hyundai IONIQ by three. Also popular were JAC iEV7S, and Tesla Model S.
