Portraits of three heroes of the Great Patriotic War appeared on Uritskogo Street in Samara. These are the People’s Artist of the USSR Mikhail Pugovkin, the pilot Olga Sanfirova, and the leader of the Soviet aircraft industry Dmitry Vorfolomeev, 63.ru reports. The project itself is aimed at creating graffiti on the facades of residential buildings depicting outstanding people and their exploits.

The mural, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was created as part of the federal project “Portrait of Memory”. It is specified that the project is financed by its sponsors, contributions from citizens for these purposes are not used.
So, on the new graffiti appeared Mikhail Pugovkin who volunteered for the front on July 7, 1941, at the age of 17 and served in intelligence. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree and the medal “For the Victory over Germany”. Another person is Olga Sanfirova who was a squadron commander of the 46th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment, and became a hero of the USSR. And finally, Dmitry Vorfolomeev who was a forerunner of the Soviet aircraft industry, a turner-milling machine operator at an aircraft plant, and a Hero of Socialist Labour.
