The first indoor skating rink in Krasnoobsk was given to young hockey players on New Year’s Eve. The ‘Kolos’ ice complex opened its doors there. The construction of the arena began in 2012, then it was stopped several times, and already in 2018 it was resumed and brought to completion, the press service of the local administration reports.
The hockey players of the local team used to train on open boxes or went to the sports complex nearby. Now they have their own territory of 3.5 thousand square metres. The multifunctional complex consists of three blocks and is designed not only for hockey players, but also for figure skating, short track training, and for training people with disabilities.
It is noted that the new complex will also house the Siberia Olympic Reserve hockey school. Today there is already recruitment for the groups of young hockey players born in 2012, and in total it is planned to recruit teams of four ages who will share the arena with ‘Kolos’ players. In addition, sports classes will be created on the basis of Krasnoobsk secondary schools in the new year.
