New Infectious Disease Hospital Opened in Kazan

The Minister of Health of Tatarstan, Marat Sadykov, announced that the construction of a new infectious disease hospital in Kazan was completed. The medical facility was erected in 100 days and is now ready to open.

The decision to build a new facility was made by the President of the Republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, after the evacuation of 8 Russian citizens from a cruise ship, where the coronavirus was found. It is specified that the new hospital is 15,000 square metres. It contains modern equipment and has a capacity of 232 beds with the ability to deploy up to 504 if necessary.
