The plane, named after the city of Magnitogorsk, made its first flight to the city of the same name. Later, a grand presentation of the Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) airliner took place in Moscow, chelTV reports.
Rossiya Airlines named its plane in honour of the City of Labour Valour of Magnitogorsk, whose name was inscribed on the liner’s fuselage. It will fly on domestic routes from Moscow to Astrakhan, Belgorod, Voronezh, Nizhnekamsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, and Magnitogorsk.
According to the press secretary of the airline, Sergey Starikov, there are 17 such aircraft in the fleet, but by the end of 2021, it is planned to increase their number to 66. It is noted that the names of the aircraft of the Rossiya Airlines are chosen so that to recall the exploits of the home front workers during the Great Patriotic War.
