New World Record: Rostovites at World Championship in Powerlifting

The Azov athlete Vitaly Shaulsky broke his own world record at the V World Powerlifting Championship “WRPF/WEPF/WAF/WSF 2019”.

The World Powerlifting Championship was held from December 4 to 8 in Moscow. The five-day competition was attended by more than 3 thousand athletes from 36 countries of the world. Two athletes from the Rostov region were able to prove their strength and get the world title.

The head of the city of Gukovo, Boris Trofimov, became the best in the bench press division. Its result is 237.5 kg.

Azov resident Vitaliy Shaulsky was also recognized as the best in the world in the bench press discipline in the competition. According to the athlete, he sets a record in the weight category up to 140 kg for the second time. In 2018, his result was 207.5 kg, this year an athlete from Azov was able to master 208 kg.

In his free time from competitions and training, Vitaly Shaulsky works as an assistant to the deputy, and also is engaged in individual entrepreneurship. The man has been doing powerlifting for 7 years and is not going to stop yet.
