The main New Year’s space of Novosibirsk will move to Theater Square near NOVAT. Spruce will also be located on the central avenue at the opera house.
According to Deputy Mayor Anna Tereshkova, theatrical themes will be used in the design, since in 2020 the 75th anniversary of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater is celebrated. The alleys on Lenin Square near the opera house will turn into a skating rink. There will be no ice rink in Central Park, due to the advent of a new light and music fountain, ice filling in the park will be impossible. The rink area at the opera house will be 2200 meters.
Around the city hall will be equipped New Year’s decor, arches, trees wrapped in luminous garlands. The facade of the theatre itself will also be decorated with backlighting and the numbers 2020 on the steps. Entrance to the skating rink with your skates will be free. It will be possible to rent skates, the cost for adults is 150 rubles, children under 14 years of age and pensioners will pay 80 rubles.
By tradition, a snow sculpture festival will be held here. The main New Year’s scene will be located on the steps of NOVAT. In the Theater Square, work has already begun on filling the rink. The spruce will be mounted on December 9, the tentative opening of a decorated Theatre Square and a snow town in Pervomaisky Square is planned for December 15.
The New Year town will work until February 15. As the mayor’s office noted, in this regard, from December 1 to February 15, any political activity (pickets and rallies) will be prohibited in the Theater and Pervomaisky squares.
