The farmers in Nizhny Novgorod procured 702 thousand tonnes of feed for farm animals, which is 24 per cent more than planned, according to the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture Nikolai Denisov. He noted that agrarians stocked 230 thousand tonnes of hay, which is 9 per cent higher than it was planned.
According to Denisov, for the successful wintering of livestock, it is necessary to stock at least 25 centners of feed units of coarse and succulent feed per head. So far, 24 centners have been procured in the Nizhny Novgorod region. At the moment, farmers have already harvested 520,000 hectares of sown area, which is 90% of all land. In total, local agricultural workers managed to collect 1.5 million tonnes of grain.
