The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, noted that the region has reached a level of production that allows it to satisfy its own needs and be present on the international market. Potatoes, soft drinks, confectionery, flour and cereal, pasta and oil and fat products are delivered abroad more often.
“Potato production this year in the region increased by almost 40%. High yields are facilitated by the fact that farmers are introducing reclamation systems in agricultural production,” he said.
According to the governor, funding in 2019 amounted to 106 million rubles, that is 4 times more than in 2018; this allowed the commissioning of more than 3 thousand hectares of reclaimed land.
