At the end of 2020, the Nizhny Novgorod region took third place in terms of exports of telecommunication, computer, and information services, the website of the regional government reports with reference to the governor of the region Gleb Nikitin.
It is noted that the first and second places were taken by Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to the governor, in general, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the IT industry is developing at a good pace, despite the pandemic. Thus, the number of IT companies in the region has grown by 25 per cent over the year, to almost 1.5 thousand.
It is specified that the export of telecommunication, computer, and information services in January-September 2020 in the Nizhny Novgorod region amounted to $115.92 million, almost 25 per cent more than in 2018. According to estimates, in 2020 more than 33.2 thousand IT specialists work in the region, which is 13.5 per cent more than in 2019.
