The authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region plan to achieve a balance of deforestation and forest creation by 2024. According to the press service of the regional government, the national project “Ecology” will contribute to this goal, reports NEWSNN.RU.
The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, said that in 2019 it was possible to overfulfill forest planting by 102%. New forest stands appeared on the area of 13.72 thousand hectares.
According to the Department of Forestry, such indicators were achieved thank to the purchase of new forestry equipment. This allows to automate the processes of forest planting and caring for already created forest crops.
