Novosibirsk Resident Won Russian Stage of Chinese Competition

A student from Novosibirsk, Melissa Baidak, won the All-Russian student competition “The Bridge of the Chinese Language”. A third-year student took part in it online in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. The four stages of the competition included questions about the culture and traditions of China, improvisation, and presentation, VN.ru reports.

It is noted that the laureates of the competition will be awarded scholarships to study in China. The winner, Melissa, will be able to complete a full-time education in a master’s programme. Roman Khalikov (St. Petersburg) and Andrey Dagayev (Moscow) who took second place in the competition have an opportunity to study in China for one academic year; Daria Korobko (Moscow) and Dulma Arsalanova (Irkutsk) won a scholarship for one semester of study for their third place in the competition.

According to the organizers of the competition, the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation, the victory in the competition opens up new opportunities for these 5 students, that now have a chance to represent the Russian team at the world stage of the Chinese language competition which is planned to be held this autumn.
