The Omsk Vrubel Museum of Fine Arts got 20 paintings and 4 graphic works by Kondraty Belov from its repositories. Belov was called the best Siberian landscape painter and even the patriarch of painting, om1 reported.
In 1924 Kondraty Belov became a member of the Omsk branch of the largest art group of that time, the Association of Artists of the Revolution. After the war, in 1945 he was awarded the medal “For Valiant Labour”. It is noted that his graphic fund contains only 15 works, but they demand special conditions for storage, so only one of these works was shown again, for the first time in 10 years.
The largest work of the artist is “The Release of Political Prisoners From the Omsk Convict Prison”. The artist was a participant and eyewitness to the events. Very young he was mobilized into the tsarist army, four months later he got into the red army, then he was demobilized and studied in Omsk.
Belov devoted the second half of his life to the landscape. The first work in this genre, after which fame came to him, depicts the Irtysh river. It is noted that at the exhibition, you can also see the paintings dedicated to Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Tobolsk, and others.
