The analysis of expenses from the bank’s customers’ cards showed that from August 15 to September 15, 2020, software expenses increased 2.4 times compared to the same period last year, om1 reports. The research is based on the analysis of anonymized data on bank cards of MTS Bank clients in the Omsk region.
The factor of remote learning in connection with the coronavirus pandemic in spring 2020 influenced the increase of sales of software and computer equipment ahead of the new school year. The number of transactions for the purchase of software in the Omsk region in August increased by 3.7 times, and in September by 38 per cent compared to the same period last year. It is also specified that the sales of computers, components, and accessories increased in August by 31 per cent and in September by 17 per cent.
It is noted that in August and September 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, purchases in stores of school and office supplies also increased by 21 per cent and 16 per cent in August and September, respectively. There was also an increase in transactions in August 2020 compared to 2019 in sporting goods stores (twice) and in bookstores (by 72 per cent).
