Over 12,000 Fireworks Launched in Moscow on Victory Day

The military painted the Moscow sky in the colours of the Russian flag during the festive fireworks in honour of Victory Day, TASS reports. Earlier it was announced that it was planned to launch over 12 thousand fireworks of more than 70 types from 72 fireworks installations. The launch of fireworks was accompanied by 30 blank volleys of a battery of ZIS-3 cannons on Poklonnaya Gora. 

For greater entertainment, pyro elements based on ballistic powder were used so that the fireworks could be seen even from a long distance. Thus, fireworks could be seen in Victory Park, Luzhnetskaya Embankment, Lianozovo, All-Russian Exhibition Centre, Izmailovsky Park, Novo-Peredelkino, Kuzminki Park, as well as in Nagatinsky Zaton, Obruchevsky, Yuzhnoe Butovo, Mitino, Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo, Levoberezhny districts, as well as in Zelenograd and Troitsk.

By order of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, besides the capital of Russia, festive fireworks in honour of Victory Day were also held in other hero cities, namely in Volgograd, Kerch, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg (the hero city of Leningrad), Sevastopol, Smolensk, Tula, as well as in the cities where the headquarters of military districts, fleets, combined arms armies, and the Caspian flotilla are deployed.
