Over 12,700 People to Take Part in Eastern Military District Victory Parades

More than 12.7 thousand people will take part in military parades in honour of Victory Day in the Eastern Military District of Russia (VVO), TASS reports with reference to the district’s press service.

In total, more than 12,700 people will participate in military parades on May 9, 2021, in the cities of Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Belogorsk, Chita, and Ulan-Ude, including more than 9,400 servicemen from the Russian Ministry of Defence. In Khabarovsk, it is planned to attract over 3.5 thousand people to participate in the parade as part of the parade crews on foot, including more than 2,400 servicemen from the Russian Ministry of Defence.

Traditionally, a company of drummers from the Ussuriysk Suvorov military school, a company of the guard of honour of the district training centre, parade crews of the headquarters of the Air Defence Forces, the Air Force and Air Defence Association, a separate motorized rifle formation, military units of the Marine Corps, special forces, railway troops, and the Far Eastern VOKU (Higher Combined Arms Command School) will participate in the parade.
