Over 20 Russian Beaches Received Blue Flag Environmental Mark

In 2020, 24 beaches in Russia received the international blue flag environmental mark, indicating the cleanliness of the coast and coastal waters, the press service of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reports.

The largest number of ecologically clean beaches is registered in Sochi (21). Among them are “Seagull” beach, “Riviera” beach, “Zapolyarye” beach, “Primorsky” beach, “The Beach Named After Maurice Thorez”, “Swissotel Resort Sochi Kamelia” beach, “Radisson Collection Paradise Resort & Spa” beach, “Hotel Velvet Seasons” beach, and others. Two beaches in the Kaliningrad region, and “Massandra Beach” in Yalta (Crimea) also deserve the blue flag. Around the world, there are about 3,500 beaches that have a “blue flag” mark. The leaders in the number of these marks are countries such as Spain, Greece, Turkey, Italy, and France.
