Over 2,000 Girls Enter Russian Military Universities

More than 2 thousand girls will try to enter Russian military universities this year. In particular, in certain specialities, the competition will be up to 20 people per seat, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Head of the Main Personnel Department of the Russian Defence Ministry, Colonel-General Viktor Goremykin.

“This year, more than 2.1 thousand people have expressed a desire to enter, while about 180 female citizens will be enrolled in studies,” Goremykin said.

According to him, the girls will be admitted to nine universities, namely, the Marshal Semyon Timoshenko NBC Protection Military Academy, the Military Institute (Naval Polytechnic), the Kaliningrad branch of the Naval Academy, the Military Academy of Aerospace Defence, the Military Academy of Communications, the Military University, the Military Academy of the Strategic Missile Forces, the Military Medical Academy, and Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots.

“The competition among girls is traditionally high. The most in-demand are the Military Medical Academy – up to 20 people per training place, as well as the Military Communications Academy – more than 15 people per place,” General Goremykin noted.
