More than 2 thousand women with children under three years old and non-working women with children of preschool age will be able to enrol in a retraining and additional education programme in the Khabarovsk Territory, TASS reports, referring to the acting governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev.
“Work is already underway to approve educational programmes. As part of the Demography national project, women who are on parental leave under the age of three and women who do not work, with children of preschool age, will be able to get free vocational training or receive additional vocational education. We have calculated that we will be able to retrain about 2,200 people this year,” Degtyarev said.
He noted that in the previous year, 500 women with children were able to master new professions under this programme. It is specified that women got this opportunity with the release in May 2012 of the presidential decree on demographic policy. In 2020, measures to retrain and improve the qualifications of women with children were included in the Demography national project, which significantly expanded with the development of the programme.
